SuMa-eV planning on promoting decentralized searchengine

Yesterday saw the founding of the “Verein zur Förderung der Suchmaschinentechnologie und des freien Wissenszugangs” (Association for the promotion of search engine technology and the free access to knowledge), SuMa-eV for short, as a reaction to the near monopolistic position of Google in Germany. The goal is the creation of a decentralized and cooperative searchengine-infrastructure in Germany. This project was initiate amongst others by Dr. Sander-Beuermann, developer of MetaGer.
