After Yahoo! declared a few weeks ago that they were the searchengine with the largest database, having nearly
20 billion documents in its index, Google followed suit and and put up their
own page on the subject of „index-size“. There they are pointing to their index as being thrice as large as any other searchengines and while they don't release and real numbers, just to be on the safe side, they also point out that the size of the index has nothing to do with the quality of the searchresults.
