The consequences of the BMW-kick

Succeeding the removal of bmw.de from the index, the subject is now being taken up by the established media. Spiegel Online, Handelsblatt and the Süddeutsche are all dealing with the reasons and consequences – sadly I am unable to detect a basic understanding of SEO in many of those articles.
Philip Lenssen, whose blog set the ball into motion is and is revealing more sites that are not conform to Google's standard of quality. We are left to hope that Google will get a grip on this problem in the future and that this multimedia witchhunt will become obsolete.
