E-Mail-spam has a lasting, negative impact on E-Mail as a medium

The market researchers at Pew Internet & American Life Project did a study on the impact of spam on the regular usage of E-Mail. Due to the large amounts of spam, 25% of E-Mail users are already using it less. Private users have a larger problem with spam, which can be explained by companies using spamfilters more often to secure their accounts.
