Google Music Trends

Google compiled their own charts with Google Music Trends. The data comes from Google Talk. This program will, with the expressed user-consent, read out the songs that are currently playing on iTunes, Winamp or other music-players and transmit them to Google. Google then takes this information, compiles the charts and links them directly with Google Music. Quite a nice idea, just years too late – we already have Last.fm
