Keyword Tag-Cloud

Johannes Beus
Tag-clouds are in vogue – in the past this was something that you had to answer for because it was seen as keyword-spam but today it is allowed thanks to the Web2.0. The Tag-clouds are not used for navigation but for the evaluation of the searchenginereferrer and are created with this quickly assembled script. The result will often shine a different light on data than the usual stastisitcscripts and tools do. The larger and darker a keyword is, the more visitors were brought to the page by the keyword. Everyone who wants to try this for their own logfiles is welcome to take a look at the sourcecode here: cloud.php – not necessarily clean or beautiful and in that vexing-language to boot, but it does what it is supposed to do. Just adjust logfile and target and chase it through the PHP-parser. Have fun.
