Google-starlet Matt Cutts has tried to change the signal-to-noise ratio of his blog for the better. Seeing how some points are interesting, here a short summary:

PageRank

Cutts confirmed that the quarterly PageRank-update is being send to the Data centers at the moment. He also emphasized that the new PageRank-values have already flown into the ranking which should mean that no huge changes should be expected. Besides the PageRanke-data, new data for related, link: and info: have been uploaded. Cutts confirmed what had long been suspected, the link:-query will not list all of the really existing and valued links. He also emphasized that the data for Data centers 64.133.183.xx and 72.14.203.xx are obsolete.

Supplemental Results

The problem, that sites from the supplemental-index were shown before those of the regular index for site:-queries, has been fixed. Cutts is also stressing the point that the supplemental-index is not a depreciation. He confirms that the decision of whether sites will land in the supplemental-index or the normal Google-index are based on the PageRank. Should too many sites of a domain be found in the supplemental-index, you should increase the number of targeted, incoming links via whitehat-SEO (reminds me of the linkpurchase-debate that is going on at the moment).

furthermore

The filetype:-query should be able to be used without an query in the future. Filetype:pdf will therefore show results, too.

An update of the databases, a “Data Push” that, until now, was done every 3-4 weeks, is supposed to regularly happen every 1-2 days now. Cutts did not share which data are concerned in this. Anyone wishes to offer a wager?

The problem with Com-domains which are hosted outside the USA and for which a Site:-search on Google UK did not show the homepage is now fixed as much as possible.
