I have always found statistics, like those of Denic about the distribution of registered de-Domains for counties, interesting and insightful. Seeing that, at the moment, we are also working with localized data, I have also visualized them on a map of Germany. Compared to the Denic-statistic, these data lists cities instead of counties. The larger the circle, the more active domains are in that particular city. Additionally, I have also included other TLDs instead of only listing de-Domains. You can click on the map for a larger version. Here are the top25-cities including the ratio of domains that are registered there:
The divergence lists the percentage of deviation from the norm depending on the population. The largest jump in comparison to the known ranking by population has, in this case, come from Bonn – usually only in 19th place, they jump up to 8th in the list by domains.
