Federal Government buries 120 Billion Euro of taxpayers' money.
Up until now, the ideas and rumors around the German Google-competitor had been of a rather theoretical nature, but now the EU-commission met and approved a proposal by the German Government to bury 120 Billion Euro in an obscure project that has something to do with the Internet and searchengines. Theseus, how the project is called, has, at least, already moved into a press agency in the prime Berlin location of “unter den Linden” and gathered quotes of people that have to be believed. Now they are to acquire basic technologies and technical standards – probably such wacky things as a XML-sitemap-standard or state-of-the-art technology in that direction, which should be operational in about 5 years. At least there is some hope – T-Systems does not seem to be involved. This posting is older than 30 days and therefore closed for new comments.
