Microsoft purchases Fast

Microsoft announced that they want to take over the searchspecialist “Fast” for approximately 1,2 billion USD – after all a 42% increase to Fast's stock market worth at the moment. While it has become quiet around Fast in the recent past, some should still be able to remember AllTheWeb which Fast operated as a showcase, back in the day. As far as I can remember Fast also owns the Miva-Backfillindex. Microsoft is now obviously trying to buy in missing searchengine know-how
