Googles at war with Spam?

Is Google finally doing something against spam? The signs that this might be close at hand are becoming more frequent. At the SESC they announced that their new anti-spam-algorithms would go live “in the near future”. This morning there was a time when you would only get 18 results for an international Search for “hotel”. There are also some German searchqueries that are noticeably more spam-free.
