Results displayed directly in the Google-SERPs

It seems that today Google added a feature to the German SERPs which, in specific cases, displays the queried information directly on the resultspage. An example where this can be seen nicely is the search for “Fläche Bonn” which is emphasized in the following screenshot:

The most likely classification for this would be a considerably modified and customized snippet. While usual snippets show small textual excerpts from the page, in this case Google is restricting itself to just the queried information – with startling accuracy. All of these integrations have one thing in common, they are always displayed first. It also seems that they are consistently triples with three, rather short attributes, two of which are stated in the query and the third is searched for.

Besides the point that, for the users, this feature is helpful in most cases, for website-operators it is another step that Google took to keep searchtraffic on their own site instead of passing it on to the actual search results. Beginning with features from universal-search like the integration of Google-Maps, via the cooperation with the newsagency “AP”, which led to a separate Googlepage where a number of news reports are displayed up to the integration of complete YouTube videos directly in the SERPs – the user always stays at Google ...
