The end of Google's breather.

Tonight Google decided to finally add the sites it crawled the last few days but did not take into the index. At around midnight there were some decent turbulences with the index – this can be seen nicely in our IndexWatch since the data is compiled at that time. From what I can see at the moment, it seems that Google returns to their old habit of adding new pages from smaller blog- and news-sites quickly into the index.

Even more interesting than clearing this backlog is the fact that the ranking of already indexed sites has shown – in some cases distinctive – movement. Just as I supposed, it seems that Google has taken the time-out to implement major changes. The next few days will show what changed, and which direction Google is taking with this.
