Seekport bankruptcy

Johannes Beus
Thomas discovered that the last, larger German search engine with its own index-technology has filed an application for insolvency proceedings. The proceedings already started on 07.08, with the application filed on 04.10 – which begs the question if it has not been in disorder for a while already. This is the inglorious continuation of the story of German search engines – first Fireball, now Seekport and eventually maybe even Theseus. Just as with Fireball there have been attempts, in the last few month, to exploit the trust that Google still held in the domain. In the week of 05.19 to 05.26 Google intervened (probably manually) and revoked their trust into seekport.de.
