Fitting for the first of September, here the IndexWatch numbers for last month. As always we start out with those up-and-coming in the Google-SERPs:

The first three spots on the winning side are all taken by domains that have regained their old strength and visibility in the SERPs. While branchenbuchsuche.de was only absent for about 6 Weeks, the drama about the web-catalog pixel-partisan.de has been dragging on for a while – I venture to doubt whether the promotion will last. Yahoo's price-comparison Kelkoo has drawn considerable strength between last week and now.

I would guess that duplicate content is the culprit for Ad-hoc-news.de's swift decline – it goes well for a long time but somewhere along the line the balance tips and the ranking is gone. What is more interesting is webnews.de's loss: within the last week their SEO-traffic should have gone down considerably and is now at about the same (low) level as Yigg. It seems that the ranking took a complete hit for a battery of keywords. Incidentally shortnews.de received a noticeable damper in the end of February, beginning of March
