IndexWatch 01/2009 (Update)
The first month of this year is already over, this makes it the time for the IndexWatch-numbers for January of 2009. A lot has been going on in the index immediately after the new year started but more about that later. First off, the winners of last month:Winners

The winners are populated mostly by sites for which I believe that they have caught some kind of Penalty in the last months, which, this month, has vanished into thin air, or rather into nice rankings. This can be seen very nicely through the SISTRIX visibilityindex for Meta-Preisvergleich.de, Presseecho.de and Stellenmarkt.de. The “Person-searchengine” 123people.de seems prepared to mirror Yasni's success in the SERPs – I am curious to see how many of these kinds of project will have room in the Googleindex.

If we take a look at the list of domains which have lost the most in percent, then I think that I am able to make out an accumulation of penalties – though, unlike the penalties on the winning side, these are not retracted. In this case I will refrain from mentioning the reasons behind those penalties, everyone is welcome to come up with their own thoughts on this matter.
* Update 02.05.: I have taken out the names of three domains from the list of losers due to the expressed wishes of the SEO-agency in charge.
