The Linkczar gets down to businessJohannes Beus
A few weeks ago, someone took up the “russenlinks” (Russian-links) topic and created the site Linkzar.ru. In the beginning I thought this to be a funny idea but I decided against giving this story any more publicity because I believed that everything that could be said on the topic had already been said. On the site, the self titled “Linkczar” threatens everyone that mentions anything negative about linkbuilding with the help of Russian links, that he will link the respective site with the aforementioned links depending on how much was said. The whole affair is written in rather simple German and there is quite a fuss about it in the comments which caused me to not pay attention to it any further.Just now, I stumbled upon the site once again by chance and noticed that the site-operator was following up his words with deeds. Recently, a number of domains are linked by Russian sites and after consulting with the siteoperators I can assure that this linking was not initiated by them. This can be seen quite nicely in this exemplary query: ![]() Thanks to searchqueries like this (screenshot), we can also see nicely that this whole affair is not just passing Google by without a trace. There we can find a collection of all the linked sites. It is will be interesting to see how the affected parties will handle this situation. This also particularly forces Google's hand and I am curious how they will react.
