Is Google planning datacenters in Germany?

Johannes Beus
Current job-listings indicate that Google is planning to construct datacenters in Germany. They are looking for “Data Center Technicians” for Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. Sadly all other attempts of getting more information on this topic out of Google resembles the success of getting them to send you a current searchindex dump. Google's widespread construction of datacenters could indicate that new services, that need short transmission paths, are planned. Spontaneously I can think of things like the Google-Drive, which has been under discussion on and off for years, or HD-movie streaming – we will see.
