Google punishes linkvendors

After Phil Ringnalda posted in his Blog that on some pages of the O’Reilly-network there are some links that were set only to flow PageRank and linkpopularity, Matt Cutts declared, that Google was aware of this and was already disregarding parts of the perl.com, xml.com, etc. sites as far as linkjuice was concerned. At the same time, the Google-developer Cutts mentioned that there is a nofollow-attribute for links.
