AI Mode combines chatbot and web search. It’s currently only available in the US but Google has already announced plans to roll it out to Europe too. Based on 10,000 keywords, we analysed which domains are most frequently displayed in AI Mode in the US.

As in the classic web search, Wikipedia ranks first. YouTube, IMDB, Britannica, Reddit and Yahoo are also well represented in both organic search and AI mode.
It’s striking that Fandom, Yelp, and Quora rank above average in AI Mode. While these domains also perform well organically, they achieve significantly better rankings in AI Mode results.
Overall, AI Mode changes both the presentation and selection of results, but doesn’t completely turn the search world upside down. This is a very positive sign, especially considering that AI Mode may become the standard for web search in the future.
