Stay Visible April 2026 – Gemini, Search, Unity?

This month you’ll learn from the head of search at Google that there are key differences between Google Search and Gemini teams, and that they don’t really have a plan for merging the various search-like tools. I highlight March Core Update data, give you a demo of the new SISTRIX for Chatbots data and tools and finish of with a fantastic report on international flights.

Google Search and Gemini

Liz Reid appeared as a guest on the Access Podcast where she was asked about the overlap between Google Search and Google Gemini. Johannes Beus, founder of SISTRIX, had already written about this in Jan and it seems that while it would make sense to have some unification in the different search entry points – classic, AI Mode and Gemini – Google doesn’t currently have a plan. The two teams work separately.

March Core Update

Shortly after the video recording, Google announced that the March Core Update was complete. That doesn’t change the fact that the changes relating to the core update aren’t that big. Our separate article on the topic includes data from across a number of countries.

SISTRIX for Chatbots

A live demo of some of the features in the SISTRIX for Chatbots product as it stands today. We’re still in beta and free to customers with stable data and key features that are running well.

  • Background monitoring of topics and prompts – multi-millions across multiple chatbots and multiple countries.
  • Prompt monitoring projects give you a view of where a brand of domain sits in the output. Mentions and links are among the data points available.
  • Top entities and brands are listed in the tool

Charlie Williams has published a detailed and interesting report on the domains, URLs and search terms with the biggest share in the international flight industry. With 2.8m searches per month covered by 4,763 search terms, this report is a must-read if you’re in the industry.
