Changelog 2025: AI Insights, Beta Features, and API Features

SEO has changed more dramatically in 2025 than ever before. AI is shaping the daily work of marketing teams and SEOs, and it was also a key focus for SISTRIX last year. With SISTRIX for AI/Chatbots, we’ve created a product that extends the data quality of SISTRIX to these systems. Of course, other features have also received updates. Here’s an overview of all the new features from 2025.

“The transition from Google SEO to AI SEO is changing how visibility is measured, evaluated, and optimised. It’s no longer about clicks, but about mentions. No longer about rankings, but about presence in the search results. Brands that understand and continuously monitor this new logic will secure early visibility in the next generation of search.” –
SISTRIX Founder & CEO Johannes Beus

And indeed: SEO is currently undergoing more changes than it has in a long time. For the first time in many years, Google’s dominant position seems to be noticeably under pressure. While the daily search volume for ChatGPT is only between 0.57 and 1.31 billion search-relevant queries, and thus still small  compared to around 15 billion daily Google search queries, the impact is significant.

Graph shows comparison between ChatGPT and Google searches

ChatGPT quickly achieved a market share of about nine percent and became the second biggest search engine in the world.

With this shift in search, the demand for reliable SEO and GEO data is also increasing significantly. With that at the forefront of our thoughts we have focused on extending our renowned data quality , something we have been doing for Google search for almost two decades, to the new Chatbot search systems.

We achieved this with the AI/Chatbot Beta. Through numerous adjustments and improvements throughout the year, we have developed a product that expands our portfolio with AI search data while meeting our usual high standards.

Of course, we haven’t forgotten about SISTRIX for Google and Amazon, and we’ve added useful features to those products along with a series of informational hubs on the new world of AI search, answering your questions and providing actionable insights.

Below, we’ve compiled all the new features from the past year. As always, we welcome your feedback directly in the tool or via support@sistrix.com. Have fun trying it out!

SISTRIX für AI/Chatbots

SISTRIX for AI/Chatbots also gained significant depth in the third and fourth quarter. The Beta version, which has been running since the beginning of 2025, has been expanded with numerous functions to make visibility in AI answers even better measurable. In the fourth quarter, we were able to release the second version of the AI/Chatbot Research Beta . New features allow familiar workflows from SISTRIX for Google to be transferred to working with AI Search Tools.

With daily data updates , clear time series charts and the integration of Google AI Mode, we were able to implement many requests from user feedback .

Typical use cases:

  • Research prompts
    • Through which prompts is a brand actually mentioned in Google AI Mode and ChatGPT ? Just like in classic Google Search, we now offer this reverse lookup for AI Search as well.
  • Analyse competitors
    • Which brands are mentioned besides the company’s own? Brands are rarely mentioned in isolation. Now it’s possible to find out which other brands appear particularly frequently when the AI mentions a brand, and what the respective context is.
  • Discover sources
    • What information does an AI system cite? Relevant visibility for a brand means being credited as a source. Therefore, the sources of the response to prompts can now be analysed and evaluated.
  • Check structure
    • Which areas of a website are cited most frequently, and what conclusions can be drawn from this? Just as we already illustrate the traffic flow of a website, we now visualise which areas of the page are considered particularly citable by AI.

Prompt Monitoring

In addition to the information that we already collect and organise for use, it is now also possible – similar to the on-page projects in SISTRIX for Google – to monitor your own prompt sets with Prompt Monitoring .

After a prompt set is entered, we continuously determine the responses from AI search engines , process them and make them available for evaluation.

Exciting features already included in the area of prompt monitoring :

  • Individual AI Visibility Index
  • Prompts and their development over time
  • Sentiment analysis with context
  • Discover new sources

The AI/Chatbot Beta is currently free for all SISTRIX customers , and any number of projects can be created.

Query SISTRIX AI data via API

The new AI data can not only be analysed directly in SISTRIX. A completely new section of the SISTRIX API offers 10 new functions that allow for the systematic evaluation of visibility in chatbots like ChatGPT, brand analyses, and quote frequencies.

For example,

  • Regularly retrieve visibility values for prompts and brands via script,
  • analyse the development of individual prompts over time or
  • Targeted monitoring and documentation of sources and citations.

Insights in the AI Buzzwords Jungle – New AI-Insight Content Hubs

What exactly is the difference between Chatbots, AI search engines, and AI Overviews or the AI Mode? What do brands need to do now to secure their visibility even in the new AI systems? Questions like these are increasing and getting louder. So, it’s time to remedy the situation.

We spent a lot of time gathering information on the different systems and preparing it in terms of content and visuals. This new info-hub explains the various approaches, products, and methods of AI-supported search. We show what is already measurably sensible today and where there are still blind spots in data analysis.

We distinguish three fundamental areas or technologies:

What exactly differentiates chatbots , AI search engines , and AI overviews or AI mode ? Which measures work to gain visibility in the respective systems, and what should be avoided? We are receiving these questions more and more frequently.

SISTRIX for Google

Google, of course, knows very well how to secure its market power . Last year, not only were AI Overviews integrated into the classic SERP, but with Gemini 3 , its own chatbot was also significantly improved, and the AI Mode was additionally released.

We’ve already described above how AI Mode and AI Overviews can be analysed with the SISTRIX AI/Chatbot Beta . However, since AI Overviews are essentially a new SERP feature , we’ve also added corresponding functions to SISTRIX for Google to make AI Overviews directly viewable within the familiar ranking context . Three new features make this possible:

  • Keyword filter “AI Overviews”
    • The keyword filter allows you to directly filter for keywords for which a domain ranks and an AI Overview is displayed. The optional ” with ranking ” filter further restricts whether a domain is also cited in the AI Overview . This makes it possible to measure how visible a domain actually is in this new SERP layout with the AI Overview box.
  • SERP Archive
    • For each keyword, the complete content of the AI Overview can now be displayed, including the generated text and all linked sources . This makes it clear what information users are apparently looking for and in what context brands are mentioned.
  • New menu item “AI Overview”
    • This overview displays all keywords for which an AI Overview exists that cites the entered domain . A new trend graph additionally shows how often a domain appears daily in AI Overviews over time . This allows users to track how a domain’s visibility in AI Overviews changes and identify hidden potential.

The fact that Google regularly changes its algorithms and that there are certain dynamics in search results is part of the job for SEOs, and we as tool providers are also experienced in adapting to changes . However, a major challenge this year arose when Google unexpectedly deactivated the parameter “num=100” . This parameter had previously allowed us, as well as other tool providers, to query the first 100 organic results of a SERP.

Without this parameter, we had to adjust our queries , but we were able to find a good and, above all, cost-effective solution. As part of this process, the desktop visibility index , which had been steadily losing relevance anyway, was discontinued . However, desktop search results can still be retrieved manually within on-page projects .

By the way: We always inform you about unexpected changes like this or any temporary disruptions as quickly as possible via the SISTRIX status page .

SISTRIX API

Following a major overhaul of the API documentation at the end of last year , we’ve added new features in 2025 that simplify working with the API, facilitate automated data retrieval, and make many additional data types available. Here’s an overview of all the new API features:

keyword.questions : This allows you to retrieve questions related to a keyword. This is particularly useful for using them as prompts, for example.

keyword.seo.metrics : Provides key metrics for a keyword, including search volume, CPC, competition, and other KPIs. Ideal for quick assessments.

keyword.seo.competition : Retrieves competitor data for a keyword directly via API and enables informed SEO decisions.

Countries : Lists all countries for which SISTRIX offers data. Useful for international analyses with Google and Amazon.

domain.traffic.estimation : Estimates the traffic distribution of a domain. This allows you to see which areas of a website receive how much organic search traffic.

REGEX Filter : Tables can now be filtered using regular expressions in the API, just like in SISTRIX itself. This applies to, among others, ” keyword.domain.sem “, ” keyword.domain.seo “, ” domain.urls “, and ” domain.ideas “. For example, you can only return keywords that begin with a specific term or match a pattern.

keyword.domain.seo : Can now be filtered specifically by SERP features. In addition to AI Overviews, other SERP features such as recipes or shopping boxes can also be filtered, and the corresponding keywords displayed.

serpfeatures : Provides an overview of all available SERP features. Ideal for having the appropriate filter codes readily available.

project.external.links : External links from projects can now also be retrieved via API, provided they were created with the new crawl engine. The output corresponds to the table “Expertmode: External Links” and includes the URL, content type, and HTTP status.

SISTRIX MCP Server

Furthermore, we have created a way to retrieve SISTRIX data directly in chatbots . Once set up, questions such as “What is the visibility index for sistrix.de?” can be asked.

AI chatbots have a fundamental problem: unless grounded , their answers always reflect the current state of the model’s development. To enable reliable visibility data to be queried directly from SISTRIX, we’ve implemented an MCP server that allows SISTRIX data to be accessed directly within the chatbot.
The chatbot system then automatically retrieves the latest data via the SISTRIX API and provides a well-informed response. Further information can be found in the full changelog entry for the MCP interface .

Other new products

We’ve also further developed our products beyond Google and AI applications . New features include several functions in the project management area and a fundamental overhaul of our Amazon data collection process to make it more up-to-date and reliable. Also new:

  • Amazon AI Summary of Reviews
    • Amazon also now uses AI to automatically summarize customer reviews and highlight the most important pros and cons of a product. These summaries are also available in SISTRIX for Amazon and can be analysed.
  • Targeted recrawling of individual pages in the on-page project
    • Instead of always having to crawl an entire page, the URL Explorer in Onpage Projects now allows you to initiate a crawl of a single page with the click of a button . This is particularly helpful if, for example, you have only edited one page and now want to check it quickly and easily.

SISTRIX Labs

In the SISTRIX Labs , features that we are still working on and that require some fine-tuning can be manually activated and tested. This allows us to gather valuable feedback that directly informs further development .

The following new features are currently available in the Labs:

  • Worldwide data
    • Keywords , URLs , and the visibility index can now be analysed across countries . The domain overview now includes a new “Worldwide” view that combines rankings from over fifty countries. Learn more .
  • Twelve-month forecast for search volume
    • Based on historical data, a statistical model calculates the expected development of search demand for a keyword for the coming year.
  • CTR Detailed Analysis
    • Once a domain is linked to Google Search Console , SISTRIX displays the expected and actual click-through rate (CTR) for each keyword , including the displayed snippet and comparable results from competitors.

Test all the new SISTRIX features from 2025

With this year’s innovations, we have pursued one main goal: to future-proof SISTRIX and continue working towards our mission of promoting equal opportunities and transparency on the internet, regardless of the search engine used. All new features are now available in your SISTRIX account and can be tested directly there.

At this point, we’d also like to thank you for the numerous feedback we’ve received through support and LinkedIn. We always appreciate praise, but it’s especially the critical feedback that helps us make SISTRIX even better. If anything is unclear or you have feedback on new or existing features, please let us know. Our support team is always happy to help.
